In art this term, we have been looking at Pop Art ranging from Roy Lichtenstein to Andy Warhol. The children were then lucky enough to create their own Pop Art, in ICT, of a famous person or me! I wonder who they'd rather choose...

All of the things we've done so far this year!
I must admit that I've been a bit rubbish so far this year! I have taken hundreds of photos of the children doing various activities but I haven't put them all on the Blog- sorry!
So here you are, each video is of something different we have done this year.

And finally... the children have been looking at the work of Clarice Cliff in art. They found out lots of information about her (for example, that she's from the same place as Miss Bedford; well almost!). Then they used the information found to draw their own plates (see 6H's blog). Now they are sewing their own Clarice Cliff felt piece. Here they all are sewing away!

School Council
It has been School Council this week for the whole school. In Literacy, the children were put into campaign teams in order to run for school council. We had some fantastic speeches written by our candidates and they were backed by some super teams who helped to produce posters, banners, badges and slogans. Here are our candidate's speeches- who would you vote for to win?
The new School Councillors have now been picked and will be announced on the blog on Monday, hopefully with photographs of our new team; watch this space!

Macbeth Animations
In Year 6, we have been creating our own versions of Macbeth using software called Kar2ouche. The children began by animating various scenes and then adding sound effects and speech to enhance their work. It has taken a long time to find out how to upload these animations so you can thank our ICT co-ordinator, Mrs Hallybone, for helping out!
I hope you enjoy watching a selection of our animations.

Miss Bedford's Favourite Poems!
When I was asked to think about my favourite poem, I found the task incredibly difficult! I adore any poem by Spike Milligan and Allan Ahlberg and as a child I dreamed of being a poet like them! I have included 'Scissors' by Allan Ahlberg because I used to laugh at how silly the teacher was for worrying about the lost scissors but as a teacher now, I really appreciate how annoying this can be! My second poem is 'On the Ning Nang Nong' by Spike Milligan. The reason I have included this is because I love the freedom of nonsense poems and Milligan, I believe is the king of nonsense poems.

Scissors
Nobody leave the room.
Everyone listen to me.
We had ten pairs of scissors at half-past two,
And now there's only three.
Severn pairs of scissors
Disappeared from site.
Not one of you leaves
Till we find them.
We can stop here all night!
Scissors don't lose themselves,
Melt away or explode.
Scissors have not got
Legs of their own
To go running off up the road.
We really need those scissors,
That's what makes me mad.
If it was seven pairs
Of children we'd lost,
It wouldn't be so bad.
I don't want to hear excuses.
Don't anyone speak.
Just ransack this room
Till we find them.
Or we'll stop here...all week!
Nobody leave the room.
Everyone listen to me.
We had ten pairs of scissors at half-past two,
And now there's only three.
Severn pairs of scissors
Disappeared from site.
Not one of you leaves
Till we find them.
We can stop here all night!
Scissors don't lose themselves,
Melt away or explode.
Scissors have not got
Legs of their own
To go running off up the road.
We really need those scissors,
That's what makes me mad.
If it was seven pairs
Of children we'd lost,
It wouldn't be so bad.
I don't want to hear excuses.
Don't anyone speak.
Just ransack this room
Till we find them.
Or we'll stop here...all week!

On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
and the monkeys all say BOO!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots jibber jabber joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So its Ning Nang Nong Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning Trees go ping
Nong Ning Nang The mice go Clang
Nong Ning Nang The mice go Clang
What a noisy place to belong
is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!
